Mercedes earned her Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School, where she gained experience through judicial, transactional, and public interest roles. During law school, she served as a Judicial Clerk, worked with the Veterans Legal Assistance Project, and gained experience in business and economic development matters through the Vermont Small Business Development Center. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Western Carolina University.

Mercedes is licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.

Through her work with several firms across Georgia, Mercedes has gained experience in a wide range of legal matters including estate planning, probate, business law, civil litigation, zoning and local government matters, and corporate transactions. Her work has included drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents, assisting with probate and guardianship matters, preparing contracts and transactional documents, and supporting litigation matters through legal research, discovery, pleadings, and client communication.

Prior to joining The Evins Law Firm, LLC, Mercedes served as Managing Attorney for a Georgia estate planning firm, where she handled a high volume of client consultations and developed estate plans tailored to each client’s personal and financial goals.

 

Outside of the office, Mercedes enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being actively involved in her church and local community.
